Scholarships

Niagara County Community College understands that cost is one of the most important factors in your college plans. Through the NCCC Foundation, Inc. and many local organizations, a wide variety of scholarships are available to students.

Part of the "Unschedule" workshop series held in the Financial Aid Conference Room (A-117) each semester. The next sessions will be held during the Spring 2012 semester for Fall 2012 scholarships. Wed, February 15th at 11:30am & Thurs, February 16th at 2:00pm.

NCCC Scholarship Opportunities for the Fall 2012 semester 

Deadline to apply: Friday, March 2, 2012. Complete packets are to be returned to the Scholarship Office located in the Financial Aid Complex (A-114).        

A variety of scholarships are offered each semester for incoming and current NCCC students. Scholarships are available for specific majors while others are open to all students or based upon financial need and/or academic performance. Criteria is specific to each scholarship, please read each one carefully.

NYS Federation of Home Bureau Scholarships for the Fall 2012 semester 

         Deadline to apply: Friday, March 2, 2012. 

Instructions: read through the General Guidelines first and then print and fill out the NCCC Scholarship Application along with the Criteria and Application that you are applying for and return the completed packets to the Scholarship Office located within the Financial Aid Complex (A-114) by the deadline date.

Fall Scholarships Administered by Phi Theta Kappa - Scholarships are administered using a common application. Applicants may apply for one scholarship on the common application or multiple scholarships at the same time. Apply Here 

Zonta Club of Niagara Falls - All appliations and other required material must be postmarked or emailed by March 31, 2012 to be eligible. Applications can be obtained on their website. Apply Here

 

 
Graduate

NCCC Honorable Scholarship Opportunities

The Distinguished Student Scholarship - Deadline to apply: Friday, March 2, 2012  NCCC's most prestigious scholarship is available to incoming freshman graduating in June 2012 from one of the Niagara County High Schools. This full-tuition scholarship is awarded for four semesters and is based on academics, community service and commitment to Niagara County.

                            Instructions            Application

Application packets are to be returned to the NCCC Scholarship Office located within the Financial Aid Complex (A-114).  Application packets include: (2) copies of each; DSS application, official high-school transcripts, essay, and (2) letters of recommendation.  

                                        

The Honors Institute Scholarships are generously funded by the Barnes and Noble Sponsorship donation at the NCCC Foundation Annual Scholarship Gala every October. It was established exclusively for honors students who have completed 8 honor credits by the end of the semester in which they are applying.

Culinary chefs

Culinary/Hospitality/Baking & Pastry Arts Available Scholarships

The Statler Foundation Scholarship will be available to apply at the beginning of the Spring 2012 semester for Spring 2012 awards. Application packets are to be handed in to the NCCC Scholarship Office located within the Financial Aid Complex (A-114) each semester by the deadline date. 

Scholarships are available to Culinary, Hospitality and Baking & Pastry Arts majors enrolled full-time at NCCC. The maximum award for one academic year is $2,000 per student. Funds for this scholarship are generously made available from the Statler Foundation and are based upon availability each semester. NCCC reserves the right to decrease the actual dollar amount granted based upon the available funds from the Statler Foundation.

Firefighter

Volunteer Firefighter Tuition Reimbursement with (FASNY) Firemen's Association of the State of New York (HELP) Higher Education Learning Plan

Under the FASNY HELP tuition reimbursement program, student-volunteers will be eligible to have up to 100% of their tuition reimbursed in exchange for maintaining defined grades and fulfilling defined service requirements as a member in good standing in one of New York's volunteer fire companies.

Visit the website here and start by downloading the FASNY HELP Handbook and by completing the application on pg 15 and having pg 16 signed and notarized. Once completed submit everything directly to the address located on pg 2.

 
Horticulture student

Horticulture Scholarship Opportunities

Horticultural Training & Development Award

Established through funding from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, this scholarship award is designed for students pursuing a horticulture degree and who are committed to volunteering or working with a WNY environmental organization for two years following graduation from NCCC.

Athletic Grant-in-Aid Scholarships

Funds for these scholarships are made available through the Albert J. Certo Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Athletic Scholarship Fund and various fund-raising projects. For more information about athletic scholarships contact the Health Ed Dept at 716-614-4030.

 

Scholarship Awards Availability
The NCCC Foundation, Inc. reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to decrease the actual dollar amount granted from its scholarship awards based upon the economic performance of its investment portfolio from which scholarships are granted.

Please Note:
A student's financial aid package is based on the cost of attendance which includes not only tuition but also such costs as books, fees, living expenses, and transportation.

Please be aware that scholarship awards may affect your financial aid. To avoid an overaward of financial aid, students are advised to inform the NCCC Financial Aid Office of any scholarship awards received. Scholarships given by the NCCC Foundation are automatically calculated into a student's financial aid package.
